What is the Spanda Method?
SPANDA is an original methodology that consciously brings together asana, pranayama, meditation, Ayurveda and free movement through dance, approached from a somatic and therapeutic perspective.
The method proposes a journey in which the body does not simply move, but feels, perceives and transforms. Through guided practices and spaces for free exploration, SPANDA creates an intimate relationship with sensation, inner rhythm and each person’s own movement patterns.
SPANDA is not a fixed technique or a repertoire of forms. It is a deep listening to the body in movement, where the breath supports nervous system regulation, attention brings awareness to action, and free movement expresses each person’s uniqueness.

How Spanda emerged
SPANDA emerged from years of exploring different physical and energetic practices, together with a deep reflection on the body and mind shaped by conscious movement practices and the experience of movement as a poetic language.
From my beginnings in dance, I encountered the body not simply as an aesthetic form, but as a form of embodied intelligence: a system that responds, adapts, stores memory, regulates states and expresses meaning through gesture.
At the same time, from a young age I explored techniques of mental control and visualisation and began reading about Eastern philosophy. Over time, I continued to deepen my understanding of different disciplines and methods.
Movement became, for me, a dialogue between body, mind and energy, leading me to explore the transformative potential of the energetic body.
And so SPANDA was born:
A method that recognises the body as wise and sensitive, integrating structure and freedom, and bringing together breath, attention and movement to cultivate states of authentic presence.
In Sanskrit, SPANDA means vibration, pulse, tremor. It refers to a primordial vibration and to the continuous flow of energy through the contraction and expansion of movement.

An integrative movement practice
SPANDA sessions begin by working with body and mind through asana, pranayama and meditation, in a fluid and interconnected sequence.
The practice then moves into guided dance improvisation, drawing on techniques and pedagogical tools from contemporary dance, as well as fundamental principles from Yoga philosophy and Ayurveda.
The session closes with a sharing circle accompanied by an Ayurvedic infusion selected specifically for the practice.
SPANDA is a method for ALL BODIES. No previous experience in yoga or dance is required, and the practice can be adapted regardless of age or physical condition.
